I love your point about high profit consultancy as scapegoat :)
I tend to revert in such conversation to a fallback position of volition, which emphasizes your point about tool-- there is no indication at present that AI could act anything but dependently on human conviction and human-centric (or by proxy, organization centric) intent.
Whether that's good or bad or postmodernly neutral.
